Family Preparedness Workshop

Are You Prepared for an Emergency?

Family Preparedness Workshop
An introduction to emergency preparedness

In this introductory workshop the presenter will provide an overview for individuals and families about preparing for various types of short and long-term emergencies.

Today, more than ever, we need to ensure we have both the skills and materials to withstand such emergencies as:

floods / tornadoes / hurricanes / ice storms / earthquakes / chemical accidents / nuclear meltdown / power failure / epidemics / economic disruption

We will introduce participants to the essentials for building an emergency survival kit with the supplies needed to take care of yourself and your family for at least three days. We will also discuss issues that may force the population to cope with longer disruption of normal services such as water, fuel, food and other necessities.

Participants will come away from the workshop with a clear understanding of the importance of personal and family emergency preparedness and the first steps in creating their own plan.

Participants will learn:

  • How to make a disaster plan
  • What to do during an emergency
  • How to assemble a 3 day emergency kit

Here’s what people are saying..

“That was an excellent presentation! Stefan has a wealth of knowledge and experience to be shared. There was much to gain for beginners and some great tips and tricks picked up by those who are already immersed in preparing. Thanks Stefan and Joy!”
